Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort is the largest casino in North Carolina, located in Cherokee in the Great Smoky Mountains. Operated by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and managed by Caesars Entertainment, the property opened in 1997 and has been the flagship NC casino for over 25 years. Property History

Harrah's Cherokee opened in 1997 as a video gaming-only facility under the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians' compact with North Carolina. The property expanded to live table games in 2012 following a renegotiated tribal compact. Sports betting launched at Harrah's Cherokee in March 2021; nearly three years before NC legalized statewide online sports betting in March 2024.
